More from Easter

Image
Here are some pictures I didn't get a chance to post earlier. Kevin had already taken off his nice shirt, but here we are in our Easter clothes. These 2 pictures of me on Astuto were taken Monday. Isn't he so pretty?

Easter Outings

Image
We spent Easter at Kevin's parents' place. The weather was very warm, and we went on some nice hikes on base (Camp Pendleton). The top picture gives an example of the abundance of wild flowers this time of year. The hills are dotted with color- esp. with California poppies. Ein was very hot and tired, and enjoyed spending some time in the river. Ein was lagging so far behind on Sunday that we had to carry him for awhile. Here Kevin carries Ein sheep-style. He seemed to enjoy getting a ride. The water was warm and the weather was great! Sorry to the Michigan people with their snowy Easter! We love you all, and we hope you had a wonderful Easter. He is risen! He is risen indeed!

A Thought Crushed My Mind

So I learned that some of my friends (friend?) actually read this thing so I had better post more than once. An excellent friend of mine, second only to Kyle, has confirmed he reads this crazy thing. So here is a picture of him with Kyle and I! Its a rather dated picture, from high school in fact, but I realized I don't have many pictures of this guy. Clearly a sign that we need to get together more often *nudge nudge wink wink*. Some other exciting news for me: I have been e-mailing a fellow gas mask collector back and forth for a few days. This is very exciting to me because before this I had no contact with anyone who shared my enthusiasm for the contraptions...so actually being able to talk to someone about it is rather exciting. I guess you'd have to think of it this way. Take your favorite hobby (basketball, horses, video games, whatever) and then pretend you had no one to talk about it with (or at least if you ever tried they just looked at you strange and made fun of yo

These are all the DeBoer grandchildren (including Kevin and Nate). Pretty crazy, huh? I just felt like posting an interesting picture. Today I've been rather preoccupied by the somewhat disturbing dreams I had last night. In one someone drugged me, and in another I was being chased and was told to put bird's blood in my hair to make it darker. Very weird. I have a lot more scary and/or anxious dreams than I used to have, and in general, I just don't sleep very well any more. Any advice? -Stehanie

I had the day off today, and I spent it mostly doing housework. I did 8 loads of laundry, dusted, cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed, and did general picking up. It tired me out! I guess it's even harder to do all that with a big house. All I have to worry about right now is our little apartment. Kevin and I have both been reading a book called "Irrisistable Revolution" by Shane Claiborne in our separate men only/women only breakfast groups. It's pretty radical, but I'd recommend it because it is definately thought-provoking. The book mainly deals with issues of poverty/homelessness and other issues of social injustice, and the appropriate Christian response. And just because it makes things more interesting, here's a picture: This is me and my life-long friend Sara (taken when we were about 7 or 8 years old). It was Sara's birthday on Monday. :) In case you're wondering, we are wearing Dutch costumes for the annual Tulip Festival in Holland, MI. We march

A Sunny Sunday

Today is my cousin Ellisa's 10th birthday. She's my special horse-buddy. In this picture she is riding her pony, Winnie. Happy Birthday Ellisa! It's a beautiful day in Southern California, with highs in the upper 70's. We didn't do much today. We went to church (Kevin had parking lot duty) and then pretty much just hung out at home. We both took naps, becase we've been behind on sleep lately, and Kevin has a cold. Ein is also sick. Stephanie is feeling fine. :) Yesterday Kevin's parents and sister came over. We went to some historic/renown Redlands locations. We started by visiting the Smiley lebrary downtown, then we had lunch at "the Eating Room," and then we visited the Kimbery Crest home (pictured). Redlands has many beatiful Victorian homes, and the Kimbery Crest house is a great example. It was given by the family who owned it to the town of Redlands to preserve as a historical landmark after the final owner died. It was

Happy Birthday Mom A.

Today is Mom Anderson's birthday. We'd like to honor her by including her picture in this post. Ok , so I can't seem to find one of her alone, but here is the Anderson family (without Stephanie) at our wedding. Happy Birthday Mom A! I (Stephanie) went to work this morning for meetings, but it wasn't really a 'work' day. I am in the acute care pediatrics educational council, and I am also the secretary for the Inland Empire chapter of the Society of Pediatric Nurses, so I had a lot of business to take care of. I am trying to decide what kind of future career goals I have for nursing, and whether or not I should be getting a master's degree. *sigh* I do like to learn, but I'm not so sure I actually want to go back to school. I am definitely hoping to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse, but I am not eligible to do that until I have worked full time in pediatrics for two years - so I have one more year to go. Kevin might get his masters someday too, but he

Sunny Day in Redlands, CA

Image
Today was a beautiful day. As you can see from the pictures (which were taken today), it's sunny, green and clear. Midday temperatures were in the 70's. I took these pictures as I was walking Ein. (Stephanie) The oranges are ripe on the trees, and there are lots of roadside stands with Navel Oranges for sale. We already have some though, so I didn't get any. I think the Palm Trees with mountains in the background makes it look quite exotic. So, due to popular demand, here are pictures of our Mazda3. Yes it is yellow. No we are not overjoyed at that color. Yes we are overjoyed at the $5,000 we saved compared to cars of similar year and milage. And even if it is yellow, it's still a cool little hatch. (Kevin)

To be perfectly honest...

...I will probably never post on this thing again. But...I figure if I am only to post once, I had best make it a good post. So...a post posted posthaste. This is my car. I love it a lot. Isn't it pretty? Pretty car go. Pretty car go fast. Pretty car go very fast around tight turns. Go pretty car go. I have three other cars. One is a Mazda3 hatchback (2.3 of course). The other two I don't have yet, but am expecting any time. One is the DeLorean (the back to the future car) that I entered a drawing to win while at Universal Studios. The other is a Dodge Viper I entered to win at the mall last weekend...anytime now...anytime... This is Kyle, my best friend. He's almost as strange as I am. The other picture is the two of us on one of our Mountain Biking trips. Based on the picture of the two of us together, you might think that Kyle is just as strange as I am, not almost. Well, here is a picture of me in high school that should prove the truth to my original statement. Steph
