San Diego Zoo and Redlands

Wednesday I (Stephanie) took Tracie and Nathan to the world-famous San Diego Zoo. It was an exhausting 5+ hours on our feet, but we saw lots of wonderful animals. Here's a sample of some of the best:

It was fun to see the gorilla baby riding on his mom's back. As is often the case, the big silverback dominated the food.

Monkeys are fun

Check out the neck on this turtle!

Beautiful Tiger

Okapis

the Giant Pandas are a zoo favorite. Mama is below, and Daddy above

Lion King stars Pumba the warthog, and a hyena. Timon the meerkat to follow.

Meerkats are always some of my favorite animals to watch. They are so funny and expressive!

Dromedary camels

The red tree kangaroos are so cute!!

of course, the koalas probably take the prize for cutest of all

African Elephant

look - an R.O.U.S.! (rodent of unusual size)....I don't remember what they're really called

giraffes of all sizes
Back at home on Friday, we hung around Redlands. We needed a more restful day. Ein got along really well with Nathan and Tracie, although you wouldn't think so from this picture!

yes...it was warm enough to lay out and get a little color. The pool, however was frigid.

Kevin took us to Ford's Park, where he likes to play disc golf. While there, Ein was mobbed by Asian girls. :)
